Velvet frequently asked questions

Before you decide.

Common questions about the product, production models and deployment options.

Is Velvet a video editor?

Velvet is a platform that brings script, reference and production work together. It does not claim to replace a full editing application.

Can I work with a Turkish script?

Turkish script flows exist. The format of the imported file and the way headings are written affect the result; verify it with your own file.

Can every model be used?

No. Appearing in the model catalogue, or a model being open source, does not mean every input and every production flow is supported.

Can the files stay on my own machine?

That depends on the deployment and the model provider you choose. Full local connectivity is planned; offline work is not promised for every flow that exists today.

Who pays for generation?

Velvet does not sell credits. Paid models run on your organisation's own provider keys, and you pay the provider directly. Velvet does not run generation on its own keys; it shows the estimated amount before a job starts and lets you set a monthly budget cap.

How can I try it?

Share what you need to produce through the early-access form on the home page. The scope of a pilot is set by the files, models and team needs involved.
